How do you write a character that travels a distance?

The title says it all. How do you write a character who travels from point a to point b in a part that isn’t very important to the main story? Whether it’s 10 miles or 100 miles. Did you just do a massive time jump? Or do you fill the short or long trip with important things that happened? The title says it all. Medium history that influences the authors.

This could be the totally wrong place to talk / ask about this. If so, I will try to find another place to take it.

Do you find the preferred medium of the story for the authors to write? As if you prefer comics, does your writing have a different tone? How about movies or television? Do genres come into play?

Personally, I love all forms of media. I think everyone adds to the ability of an author to write. Of course they have to be critical of the piece and discover how they would write what they see instead of reading. But I think that effort helps an author grow. Like a painter who paints something they read. So, for me, all forms of Story Media are positive growth. Not only physical reading. (or digital).

But that’s just my opinion. I am fond of and I really don’t know what I am talking about. I just saw people who despise others because of their choice of history. So, I wonder if the writing really is fulfilled.

If you believe that your medium of choice has affected your writing, could you tell us how you did it? Positive or negative?

Thank you
