So you have a scene in your story.

You have the scene goal and the scene conflict.

Two basic outcomes are:

1. You either have the character fail the goal…

Or

2. The character accomplish the goal, but something happens prior to that, to create new conflict/tension.

What is a good way to mix these two varieties up?

Should it be every other chapter?

Like: character fails, wins, fail, wins etc.

What are your thoughts on this?
