Have you ever had trouble deciding if you liked something you'd written or not?

Normally when I re-read things I’ve written, I have definitive feelings about them – “Hey, this is pretty enjoyable,” or, “Wow, this is terrible.” But I recently re-read something I wrote and I don’t know what to think. It’s not “Ho hum, this is middling,” it’s, “What is this?” I just can’t see it clearly.

Has this ever happened to you? What did was the reason for your indecision? Did you end up significantly changing what you had written or did you decide that it was good enough after all?
