I loved writing a lot of fiction / poems / stories when I was young and it inspired me to be a full time writer. No kidding, I was thinking of ideas all the time and thinking of scenarios.
After graduating, I was accepted as a full-time writer in a digital magazine despite no training and I was honestly more than excited. But the aggressive approach and expectations of my manager pushed me to a strange place full of anxiety that I hated. My creativity died and I was just surviving on the job with recycled ideas. I don’t enjoy what I write and that’s a big problem.
In the end, the company died and I was out of a job. Now, I am doing freelance work for another company, but I don’t know if this career is suitable for me. Being a magazine writer needs me to socialize a lot and I’m naturally shy (although I try hard to socialize, I still felt a sense of violation and fear during the event; I’m not sure if you understand what I mean).
So would I greatly appreciate if you could advise me on similar career paths or any general advice? Thanks a lot!
