Contemporary reimagining of myths / folklore

Hi everyone,

Have an idea for a contemporary version of a classic myth. My question is if you prefer to see the same iconic character names, p. King Arthur, Merlin, Lancealot. (perhaps with contemporary titles or states, that is, not a king or a prince, but a modern equivalent) or would you rather see new names of similar characters or names and instead the essence of the myth story?
