Need a job? Help to resume writing skills

As the economy continues to falter, more and more people are looking for work. Resuming writing has become a necessary skill, as few can afford expert writers to help them put their work history, skills and abilities into a top-level biographical document.

You have to find a way for your resume to be noticed. An important challenge faced by all job seekers is to get the potential employer to select their curriculum of dozens or even hundreds under consideration.

Here are three suggestions that will help you create a resume to get an interview for a position that fits your talents and experience.

1. Be willing to sell yourself.

Don't let your humility lead you to overlook achievements that will improve your resume.

Just as I was leaving school, a close friend of our family offered to help me put together my resume. I thought I was sunk because I wanted a job in journalism, and my only experience was two semesters in the school newspaper.

Instead of focusing on my almost non-existent work history, my friend asked me to tell him everything I had done related to writing. When I finished, we had discovered several precise achievements for my resume. I matched those experiences with the work I was looking for.

2. Distinguish yourself.

There was a time when the use of whitish paper could be enough to make your resume stand out from others. That doesn't work anymore, so you need other strategies.

One method is to add graphics to your resume. Some may suggest adding your photo, but it will probably be more effective to use other images.

You can use a company logo if you have worked in a prominent place. Another option is the symbol of your university. These graphics help make your resume look different from most others, while forming a connection between you and popular brands.

Keep in mind that you don't want to take this idea too far. You want your resume to look professional, not tacky.

3. Take some risks.

Many people don't want to take a risk with their resume, but many times the reward is worth it. For example, be sure to draw attention to any positive experience that can help you get an interview.

For example, when I was looking for a job as a newspaper reporter, I had less than a year of experience in journalism, and that was in my school newspaper staff.

The friend who helped me prepare my resume wanted to know about the stories I had written. I told him about an article that caught the attention of the president of the school, who wrote a letter to the editor saying it was an excellent example of great student journalism.

The letter from the president and the article obtained prominent places in my curriculum. It was much better than saying that he had been an associate editor of my school newspaper.

These ideas will make your creativity flow while you work to find a job. Resuming writing may be the ability that gives you the position you are looking for.
