For those who write daily: What is your process? Also, I could use some tips.

I am trying to force myself into a habit of writing EVERY DAY, at least one hour a day, but at the same time it is intimidating and sometimes it is difficult to force myself to do so.

I find that when I do this kind of thing I end up writing many vaguely interesting things and most of the time I don't end up going back to it because it was not thought of or just was not super inspiring for any reason.
The next day, I will start from scratch and the same will happen.

I know it helps to finish the things you started, but is that always the case? Would it be more beneficial if I disconnected from something that perhaps didn't start as the most interesting story? Or should I start over every day and just go back to those who are a little more inspiring?

At the moment I am also working on this long-term project that I do not want to start writing until a little more research is done. It puts me in a kind of enigma because all I'm really ingesting is a topic related to this other project and, therefore, when I start writing I don't have many other things to do at that moment. So, because I know that I am working on this other thing, I do not want to invest in whatever I am writing.

It's strange and a little difficult to explain, but basically I know that writing nothing while I'm researching this project would be a bad idea. Any suggestions on how to be productive in my writing while doing research for a larger project?

Also (and this was my original intention for this post before I realized that I really needed some help) I want to know about YOUR daily method! What keeps you on that? How do you make it more useful? Do you just write in a certain window or is your daily routine more a warm-up or a way to avoid rusting between larger projects?
