When do you consider that a first draft is complete? At what point are you reviewing / rewriting your second draft? I know the “correct” answer is somewhere similar to ~ whatever works for you;) ~ but I’m curious about personal preferences. I feel like I finally (finally!) Turned a corner with my manuscript. I’m about 5,000 words from my initial word count goal. Which is huge as I consider myself a subscriber and I know the second draft will be mostly about expanding the scenes. Not all chapters are complete, but I have written * something * for each one. So it makes me wonder … when is my first draft complete and when am I in the second draft? When is at least each scene played? Do some scenes just work for the “second draft” to do? I know there are no rules … but the engineer in me wishes there were sometimes.
