The sentences are difficult to read.
I know they’re not perfect, but I’ve been experimenting with Grammarly and Hemmingway to help me with some of my spelling and grammar, which really sucks. heck, making this post I made several mistakes, heh. My question is one thing I get from both is that my sentences are hard to read, I’m not sure what makes them that way. Is it the length or the content, or a combination of both? And how much should I care? I try when I can, but other times I feel like you want me to do a series of 5-8 word sentences, rather than one sentence that conveys a full meaning. & # x200B; The example is here from Hemmingway. & # x200B; Everywhere he looked there was a winter wonderland of various shapes, some recognizable and some like rounded white hills. & # x200B; I know I could convert the comma to a period, but at the same time, the second half is an extension of the first half, so it feels strange to form two sentences. Is there something I am missing or something I just need to ignore? I started writing stories to try to figure out how to improve.
