How do you write a character that travels a distance?

The title says it all. How do you write a character who travels from point a to point b in a part that isn’t very important to the main story? Whether it’s 10 miles or 100 miles. Did you just do a massive time jump? Or do you fill the short or long trip with important things that happened? The title says it all. I did my graduation in screenwriting / creative writing and now I feel lost in the professional world.

[*this might not be the right subreddit for this. if that be the case, I am sorry for this, could you guide me to the right place for this*]

Since I was old enough to have sensitive thoughts, I wanted to create stories. I wanted to make people cry and laugh through my thoughts. This ultimately made me want to become a writer because I discovered that writers were the most powerful storytellers out there. And so when I got out of school, I enrolled in a BA in film studies with my major subjects around writing. The three years at the University were fun, I was VERY supportive and had the opportunity to explore my writing like never before. I want the teachers to praise my writing and all that. But then my college got out of hand and now I’m in the real world, and I feel lost. Every night before going to bed I planned to write my novel / short story / script. The next morning you would find me wasting my time. This is not because you don’t have enough time. I feel super self-conscious every time I am faced with the blank page. I read things written by my colleagues and felt that I was wasting my time and life. And because I graduated in this specific field, I am also not eligible for any other job. I feel lost and I think I’ve screwed up big time. Now, I would (really, really) appreciate x100 if someone could guide me or help me find ways to earn a living from my writing talent (whatever there is). I have no idea what media I can use or what job there is on the market for writers. Any advice would be of great help. ^ (THANKS: D) & # x200B; * Ps, I’m sure I might sound like an ignorant brat, but it’s just that I have no one to guide me in the professional world. If you have read this far, I appreciate it and I hope you are well. *
