I'M STUCK! All the cool things I've planned happen later in the story and I'm stuck near the beginning! That I have to do?
What the title said. Right now, the path my characters are taking to move through the plot is * too * too slow. For context, my characters just got everything they need to start the main quest (armor, weapons, motivation, and carriage carriage). I just had a vignette between the main villain and one of his servants (which will help behind the scenes, but the audience doesn’t quite know yet) that lays the groundwork for the novel’s main subplot. I have a lot of things that will happen later in the story, especially once the two remaining MCs join the party and one of the current MCs dies, but I have nothing to fill the void. I don’t want either of the two remaining MCs to join yet, as it’s too early for them to join, and currently the only thing my characters * have * to do is travel. That I have to do? Should I skip most of the trip? BTW, * could * (and probably should) give more context on what’s going on, but I don’t want to make this post too long.
