How do you write a character that travels a distance?

The title says it all. How do you write a character who travels from point a to point b in a part that isn’t very important to the main story? Whether it’s 10 miles or 100 miles. Change from limited to omniscient for some chapters - misstep?

Hello everyone First time writer here, just starting my journey, though I’ve been telling stories for years as a DM. So looking around the nets there seems to be a general feeling that switching from limited to omniscient or vice versa between chapters is a no no. Some say it’s okay if you know what you’re doing (but that’s the case for more or less breaking all the rules). I am writing a narrative in the style of Game of Thrones and have been writing on 3rd Limited until now. However, I have a couple of characters who are twins born from the same soul. Their story follows them from the beginning of their “birth” (it’s complicated), and later on they will part ways where 3rd Limited will make sense again. However, for the beginning part, I would like to follow both of them together, without being tied to a particular mind. Ideas, suggestions and advice welcome.
