Should I enroll in a university?
Phew. I am almost 24 years old and I dropped out after a couple of semesters at Engineering University when I was 19-20 years old. I also finished my baccalaureate in Medicine and I am a physiotherapy technician (by profession, but now I am not in that field). All my life I felt out of place. I always wanted to dedicate myself to art, animation, film and writing. My family was never in favor of it, so I never did it, but that just left me, how can I put it, dumb. I don’t know if I would be able to get a degree. After my failed engineering attempt, everyone keeps telling me that studying is not for me. But, he used to be an A student, he used to be very interested in Art, History, Writing, Psychology, Philosophy and similar subjects. If something interested me, I would investigate it thoroughly. But I am afraid of letting my family down again by starting a study and letting it go again. Engineering really did a number on me. I also loved math and was top of my class but again Engineering was like another level that even made me hate it. I am afraid that the same thing will happen again with any of the art forms that I would try to follow. Now I see that I cannot put aside my passions and let them be just hobbies. I don’t think I can do anything else. Or should I say study and get a degree in anything else, since I don’t think I’d be interested. Ah, I’m lonely too and I really need a person to talk to about these things. I guess being away from family and friends in a foreign country that doesn’t speak English has a way of isolating you. Anyway, sorry for my noise. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. (Is this a right sub to ask these questions? I mean, I want to study writing)
